거리낌 없는 양심

(행23:1) 바울이 공회를 똑바로 바라보며 “형제 여러분, 나는 이날까지 하나님 앞에서 오로지 선한 양심으로 살아왔습니다.”라고 하니,

여기에서 말하는 양심은 거듭나지 않은 사람의 양심을 말한 것이 아니라 성령으로 충만한 사람의 양심을 말합니다. 사도가 담대히 전진하고 하나님과 완전한 교통을 가질 수 있게 된 것은 그의 거듭난 양심이 그를 책망하지 않았기 때문입니다. 그의 모든 행위는 모두 양심을 따른 것입니다.

그는 양심이 책망한 일을 한 적이 없고 또한 한 번도 양심이 그의 몸에 정죄한 일을 한 가지도 남겨 둔 적이 없습니다. 그러므로 하나님에게나 사람에게 그는 담대함이 있었습니다. 언제든지 양심에 거리낌이 있을 때 우리는 두려워하고 담대함을 잃을 것입니다.

믿는 이는 자신의 양심이 이렇게 중요하다는 것에 대해 별로 생각하지 않습니다. 우리의 양심에 거리낌이 있을 때 우리는 하나님 앞에서 담대하지 못하게 되고, 우리가 하나님 앞에서 담대하지 못할 때 우리와 하나님과의 교통은 즉시 간격이 생기게 됩니다. 거리낌이 있는 양심은 직감이 전진하지 못하고 뒤로 물러서게 합니다.

건축을 위하여 장비됨

(엡4:11~12) 그분께서 직접 어떤 사람들은 사도로, 어떤 사람들은 신언자로, 어떤 사람들은 복음 전파자로, 또 어떤 사람들은 목자 및 교사로 주셨습니다. 이것은 성도들을 온전하게 하여 그 사역의 일을 하게 하려는 것, 곧 그리스도의 몸을 건축하게 하려는 것입니다.

"그분께서 직접 어떤 사람들은 사도로, 어떤 사람들은 신언자로, 어떤 사람들은 복음 전하는 이로, 또 어떤 사람들은 목자 및 교사로 주셨습니다." 이 은사를 받은 사람들은 특별한 계급을 가진 높은 성직자가 아닙니다. 반면에 그들은 성도들(믿는 이들)을 온전케 하기 위한 사람들입니다. 성도들은 사역의 일을 하기까지 온전케 되고, 장비되고, 갖추어져야 할 필요가 있습니다.

이 사역의 일은 그리스도의 몸을 건축하는 것입니다. 많은 성도들이 사역의 일을 하지 못하기 때문에, 에베소서 4장 11절에 언급된 은사 있는 사람들이 그들을 온전케 하고 장비시킴으로 그리스도의 몸의 건축을 위하여 사역의 일을 수행할 수 있도록 자격을 갖추는 것이 필요합니다. 이런 온전케 하는 것이나 장비되는 것은 모두 생명 안에서의 성장과 훈련과 관련이 있습니다.

이 구절들의 빛비춤은 지금처럼 분명하지 않았습니다. 우리는 사역의 일이 단지 그리스도의 몸을 건축하는 것임을 본 적이 있습니다. 이 일은 사도들, 신언자들, 복음 전파자들 그리고 목자 및 교사들에 의해 수행될 뿐 아니라, 모든 지체에 의해 수행됩니다.

그러므로 모든 성도들은 건축하는 지체들입니다. 우리는 건축되어진 지체들일 뿐 아니라 몸을 건축하는 지체들입니다. 먼저 사도, 선지자, 복음 전파자 그리고 목자 및 교사가 성도들을 온전케 합니다.

Being Equipped For the Building

Ephesians 4:11 And He Himself gave some as apostles and some as prophets and some as evangelists and some as shepherds and teachers, (12) For the perfecting of the saints unto the work of the ministry, unto the building up of the Body of Christ,

“And He Himself gave some as apostles and some as prophets and some as evangelists and some as shepherds and teachers.” Theses gifted ones are not high officials with a special rank. Rather, they are given for the perfecting of the saints [the believers]. The saints need to be perfected, equipped, furnished, unto the work of ministry.

This work of ministry is the building up of the Body of Christ. Because so many saints are not yet doing the work of ministry, they need the gifted ones mentioned in verse 11 to perfect them, to equip them, that they may be qualified to carry out the work of ministry for the building up of the Body of Christ. The perfecting or equipping is related both to growth in life and to training in certain skills.

The light on these verses has never been as bright and clear as it is today. We have seen that the work of ministry is simply the building up of the Body of Christ. This work should be carried out not only by the apostles, prophets, evangelists, and shepherds and teachers, but by all the members.

Hence, all the saints are building members. We are not only members who have been built up, but we are also members who build up the Body. Firstly, the apostles, prophets, evangelists, and shepherds and teachers perfect the saints.

This means that they build up the saints. Then the perfected saints become the building members.
