승천하신 그리스도께서 번식하고 계심(1)

성경말씀

(행1:8~9) 그러나 성령께서 여러분 위에 임하시면 여러분이 능력을 받아, 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아에서, 그리고 땅끝에 이르기까지 내 증인들이 될 것입니다.“ 예수님께서 이 말씀을 하시고 그들이 지켜보는 가운데 들려 올라가시니, 구름이 그분을 감싸 보이지 않게 하였다.

오늘의 만나

사도행전은 부활하신 그리스도의 번식과 관계가 있습니다. 그리스도께서 승천 안에서 그 영에 의해, 제자들을 통하여 이 번식을 수행하고 계십니다. 그리스도의 번식의 목적은 하나님의 왕국인 교회들을 산출하는 것입니다. 주 예수님은 이 땅에서 삼십삼 년 반을 사셨습니다. 하지만 이제 그분은 승천 안에 계십니다. 주님은 승천 안에서 매우 활동적이십니다. 우리는 승천하신 그리스도께서 보좌에 수동적으로 앉아 계시면서, 땅 위의 가련한 상황을 바라보시며, 낙담하고 계신다고 결코 생각해서는 안 됩니다. 전혀 그렇지 않습니다. 그리스도는 승천 안에서 매우 적극적인 방식으로 활동하고 계십니다. 스데반이 돌로 맞은 경우는 승천 안에서의 그리스도께서 하신 활동의 실례입니다. 사도행전 7장 55절과 56절은 ‘스데반이 성령으로 충만하여 눈여겨 하늘을 쳐다보니, 하나님의 영광과 예수님께서 하나님 오른편에 서 계신 것이 보였다. 그래서 그가 "보십시오, 하늘이 열리고 사람의 아들이 하나님 오른편에 서 계신 것이 보입니다."라고 하니'라고 말합니다. 승천 안에서 주님께서 이 땅 위의 상황을 응시하고 계셨을 때, 그분은 서 계셨습니다. 아마도 주님은 "핍박하는 이들이여, 너희가 스데반을 돌로 쳐서 죽이지만, 나는 너희 중의 한 사람인 다소의 사울을 얻어 그를 스데반보다 훨씬 더 강한 사람으로 만들 것이다."라고 말씀하고 계시는 것 같았습니다. 스데반의 경우는 부활하신 그리스도께서 승천 안에서 매우 활동적이라는 것을 보여줍니다. Acts1:8~9 But shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when He had said these things, while they were looking on, He was lifted up, and a cloud took Him away from their sight.

Words of Ministry

Acts is concerned with the propagation of the resurrected Christ. Christ is carrying out this propagation in His ascension, by the Spirit, and through the disciples. The purpose of Christ's propagation is the producing of the churches-the kingdom of God. The Lord Jesus lived on earth for thirty-three and a half years, but now He is in ascension. In His ascension the Lord is very active. We should never think that the ascended Christ is sitting passively on the throne, observing the pitiful situation on earth and feeling disappointed about it. No, in His ascension Christ is active in a very positive way. The case of the stoning of Stephen is an illustration of Christ's activity in His ascension. Speaking of Stephen, Acts 7:55 and 56 say, “Being full of the Holy Spirit, looking intently into heaven, he saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; and he said, Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” As the Lord was looking at the situation on earth in His ascension, He stood up. Perhaps He was saying, “You persecutors may stone Stephen and put him to death. But I will gain one of you-Saul of Tarsus-and make him much stronger than Stephen....” Stephen's case illustrates that the resurrected Christ is very active in His ascension.
