죽음을 필요로 하는 부활 생명

성경말씀

(요11:5~6) 예수님께서 마르다와 그녀의 여동생과 나사로를 사랑하셨다. 그런데 나사로가 병들어 있다는 말을 들으시고도 예수님은 계시던 곳에서 이틀을 더 머무셨다.
(14~15) 그러자 예수님께서 그들에게 분명히 말씀하셨다. "나사로는 죽었습니다. 여러분을 위하여 내가 거기에 있지 않은 것을 기뻐합니다. 이것은 여러분을 믿게 하려는 것입니다. 그러나 이제 그에게로 갑시다."
(25) 예수님께서 마르다에게 말씀하셨다. "나는 부활이요 생명이니, 나를 믿는 사람은 죽어도 살 것이고

오늘의 만나

나사로는 병들었을 뿐 아니라 죽었습니다. 그러므로 그는 치료가 필요한 것이 아니라, 부활하는 것이 필요했습니다. 주님의 구원에서 그분은 단지 병든 것을 치료하시는 것뿐만 아니라 또한 죽은 자에게 생명을 주십니다. 그러기 위해서 그분은 병자가 죽을 때까지 이틀을 남아 계셨습니다. 주님은 부활이며 생명이므로 사망은 그분에게 문제가 되지 않습니다. 그분이 사망을 삼키는 것은 간단합니다. 사망은 우리에게 문제가 되지만 그리스도에게는 문제가 되지 않습니다. 부활이신 그분은 사망을 이기고 삼킬 수 있습니다. 여러분이 요한복음 11장을 주의깊게 읽는다면, 심지어 나사로의 죽음도 하나님께서 예비하신 것임을 볼 것입니다. 하나님께서는 그분의 주권 안에서 예수님을 따르는 사람이 죽는 환경을 예비하셨습니다. 하나님의 주권은 그리스도의 부활 능력을 나타내기 위해서 그러한 죽음의 상황을 주셨습니다. 사망이 없으면 부활을 나타낼 길이 없습니다. 부활에게는 사망이 필요합니다. 사망이 없이 어떻게 부활이 표현될 수 있겠습니까? 우리는 나사로의 사망으로 인해 주님을 찬양할 필요가 있습니다. 만일 마르다와 마리아가 사망이 없이는 부활이 결코 표현될 수 없다는 것을 보았다면 그들은 오라비 나사로가 죽었을 때 주님을 찬양했을 것입니다. 그들은 이 사망이 주님의 부활을 표현할 것임을 알았을 것입니다. Resurrection Life Needing Death

John 11:5~6 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. When therefore He heard that he was sick, He remained at that time in the place where He was for two days. (14~15) So Jesus then told them plainly, Lazarus has died. And I rejoice for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe; but let us go to him. (25) Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes into Me, even if he should die, shall live;

Words of Ministry

Lazarus was not only sick but also dead. Thus, he did not need healing but resurrecting. In the Lord's salvation He does not merely heal the sick; He also gives life to the dead. So He remained two days until the sick one had died. The Lord is the resurrection and the life and death is no problem to Him. It is easy for Him to swallow up death. Death may be a problem to us, but it is not a problem to Christ. He as resurrection can overcome death and swallow it up. If you read this chapter carefully, you will see that even the death of Lazarus was provided by God. In His sovereignty, God prepared the environment which allowed Jesus' follower to die. God's sovereignty provided such a death situation in order to unfold Christ's resurrection power. Without death there is no way to express resurrection. Resurrection needs death. How could resurrection be manifested without it? We need to praise the Lord for the death of Lazarus. If Martha and Mary had seen that resurrection can never be manifested without death, they would have praised the Lord when they saw their brother dying. They would have known that this death would manifest the Lord's resurrection.
