주님의 상의 의미(1)

성경말씀

(고전11:24~25) 감사드리신 후에, 떡을 떼시어 "이것은 여러분을 위하여 주는 나의 몸입니다. 이것을 먹어 나를 기념하십시오."라고 말씀하셨습니다. 또한 그들이 먹은 후에, 이와 마찬가지로 잔을 가지시고 "이 잔은 내 피로 세운 새 언약입니다. 이것을 마시되, 마실 때마다 나를 기념하십시오."라고 말씀하셨습니다.

오늘의 만나

주님의 상의 첫 번째 의미는 주님을 기념하는 것입니다. 주님은 우리가 그분을 잊을 것을 아십니다. 비록 우리가 받은 은혜가 아주 크고 우리가 받은 구속이 아주 놀라울지라도 우리의 체험으로 볼 때 사람은 그분을 쉽게 잊는다는 것입니다. 그분은 우리보다 훨씬 더 위대하십니다. 우리는 결코 그분의 위대함을 측량할 수조차 없습니다. 우리가 그분을 기념함으로 그분에게 어떤 유익을 드리는 것이 아닙니다. 그러나 우리를 위하여 주님은 "이것을 행하여...나를 기념하십시오."라고 하셨습니다. 주님은 그분 자신을 낮추어 우리에게 그분을 기념하라고 손짓하는 것입니다. 먼저 그분은 자신을 낮추어 우리의 구주가 되셨습니다. 또한 우리의 마음을 얻고 우리의 기념을 얻고자 자신을 낮추셨습니다. 그분은 우리가 그분을 잊기를 원하지 않으십니다. 그분은 우리가 매주 지속적으로 그분 앞에 살고 그분을 기념하기를 갈망하십니다. 주님은 우리가 그분으로부터 영적인 축복을 얻도록 이것을 요구하시는 것입니다. 주님의 우리에 대한 요구는 그분을 기념하는 것입니다. 이것은 그분의 사랑 안에서의 요청입니다. 만일 우리가 항상 그분을 기념하지 않고 그분의 구속을 우리 앞에 두지 않는다면, 우리는 쉽게 세상의 일들에 엮여지게 될 것입니다. 또한 하나님의 자녀들 사이에 쉽게 다툼이 있게 될 것입니다. 우리의 손실은 아주 클 것입니다. 이것이 주님이 우리에게 그분을 기념하라고 하신 이유입니다. 우리가 그분을 기념할 때 우리는 축복을 받습니다. 이것은 그분의 축복을 받는 하나의 길입니다. 우리는 주님을 기념함으로써 그분의 은혜를 받습니다. Similarly also the cup after they had dined, saying, This cup is the new covenant established in My blood; this do, as often as you drink it, unto the remembrance of Me.

Words of Ministry

...the first significance of the supper is to remember the Lord. The Lord knows that we will forget Him. Although the grace we received is so great and the redemption we received so wonderful, our experience tells us that it is easy for man to forget Him. He is much greater than we are; we could never fathom His greatness. We do not add benefit to Him by remembering Him. Still, for our sake, He said, "This do...unto the remembrance of Me." The Lord has condescended Himself and has beckoned us to remember Him. He first condescended Himself to be our Savior. He also condescended Himself to win our hearts and gain our remembrance. He does not want us to forget Him. He desires that week after week we continuously live before Him and remember Him. He asks this so that we may gain spiritual blessings from Him. The Lord wants us to remember Him; this is His request in love. If we do not always remember Him and place His redemption before us, we will easily be entangled with things of the world. There will easily be quarrels among God's children. Our loss will indeed be very great. This is why the Lord wants us to remember Him. We are blessed when we remember Him. This is one way to receive His blessing. We receive the Lord's grace through remembering Him.
