더 높은 생명을 삶

성경말씀

(마5:27~28) '간음하지 마라.'라는 말씀을 여러분이 들었습니다. 그러나 나는 여러분에게 말합니다. 음욕을 품고 여자를 보는 사람마다 이미 마음속으로 간음한 것입니다.

오늘의 만나

마태복음 5장에서 주 예수님은 살인과 간음에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다. 살인은 우리의 성질을 말하고 간음은 우리의 정욕을 말합니다. 우리의 성질과 정욕은 끊임없이 우리를 손상시키고 괴롭힙니다. 만일 우리가 돌이었다면 우리는 이 두 가지 것들로 인해 괴로움을 당하지 않을 것입니다. 우리는 매일 우리의 성질로 인해 괴로움을 당하거나 우리의 정욕에 의해 유혹을 받습니다. 우리는 얼마나 쉽게 자극되고 마음이 상합니까! 아마도 우리 중 어떤 사람들은 하루에 최소한 열 번은 마음이 상할 것입니다. 어떤 사람들은 정욕에 의해 괴로움을 당합니다. 이런 이유로 우리는 이성의 지체와 단 둘이 있지 말아야 합니다. 만일 여러분이 그렇게 조심하지 않는다면 여러분의 엄청난 정욕에 의해 유혹될 것입니다. 옛율법보다 더높은 도덕적 표준에 따라 살기 위해 여러분은 성질과 정욕을 이겨야 합니다. 여러분은 이것을 행하기가 쉽지 않다고 말할 것입니다. 그렇습니다. 그것은 쉽지 않습니다. 이것이 바로 여러분에게 그리스도가 필요한 이유입니다. 이것이 바로 여러분에게 또 다른 생명이 필요한 이유입니다. 우리가 얼마나 그리스도와 함께 머물 필요가 있는지요! 우리는 매일매일 그분을 접촉할 뿐 아니라 심지어 매시간 그분을 접촉해야 합니다. 우리 안의 성질과 정욕 때문에 우리는 계속적으로 그리스도와의 교통 가운데 남아 있어야 합니다. 믿음의 원칙에 따라 구원받은 후 우리는 더 높은 생명 즉 가장 높은 표준을 가지고 있는 생명을 살아야 합니다. 이 가장 높은 표준을 가진 생명은 우리의 성질과 우리의 정욕을 이기는 생명입니다. Matthew 5:27 You have heard that it was said, “You shall not commit adultery.” (28) But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman in order to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Words of Ministry

In Matthew 5 the Lord Jesus spoke about murder and adultery. Murder refers to our temper, and adultery, to our lust. Our temper and our lust constantly damage and trouble us. If we were stone, we would not be bothered by these two things. But daily we are either troubled by our temper or tempted by our lust. How easy it is for us to be irritated and offended! Some of us may be offended at least ten times a day. Others are troubled with lust. For this reason,...you should never be alone with a member of the opposite sex for any length of time. If you are, you will be tempted by your ferocious lusts. In order to live up to a moral standard higher than that of the old law, you must overcome your temper and your lusts. You may say that this is not easy to do. Right, it is not easy. This is why you need Christ. This is why you need another life. How we need to stay with Christ! We must contact Him not only day by day, but even hour by hour. Because of the temper and lust within us, we need to remain in constant fellowship with Him. After we have been saved according to the principle of faith, we need to live a higher life, a life with the highest standard. This life with the highest standard is a life that overcomes our temper and our lust.
