동방박사의 선물(2)

성경말씀

(눅2:48~49) 예수님의 부모는 예수님을 보고 크게 놀랐으며, 어머니가 "얘야, 왜 우리에게 이렇게 하였느냐? 아버지와 내가 너를 얼마나 애타게 찾았는지 모른다."라고 하니, 예수님께서 "왜 나를 찾으셨습니까? 내가 마땅히 내 아버지의 일 가운데 있어야 하는 줄을 알지 못하셨습니까?"라고 하셨다.
(51)예수님은 부모와 함께 내려가셨다. 그리고 나사렛에 돌아오셔서 부모에게 복종하시며 지내셨고, 예수님의 어머니는 이 모든 일을 마음에 간직해 두었다.

오늘의 만나

몰약은 죽음과 또한 죽음의 향기를 상징합니다. 인간 가운데 있는 사망은 향기가 없지만 예수님께는 죽음의 향기가 있습니다. 예수께서 열 두살 되셨을 때 그분은 부모와 함께 예루살렘에 가셨습니다. 그분은 사람들이 자기 아버지의 집인 성전 안에서 무엇을 하고 있는지를 볼 부담이 있었기 때문에 명절 후에 예루살렘에 머물렀습니다. 마리아와 요셉은 그분을 이해하지 못했습니다. 그들은 그분을 찾았으며 결국 성전 안에서 그분을 발견했습니다. 어떤 의미에 있어서 마리아는 그를 책망했습니다. (그러나 그분은 논쟁하지 않으셨습니다.) 그분은 그들과 함께 나사렛으로 돌아가셨습니다. 그것은 참으로 그분에게 있어서 죽임 당하는 것이었습니다. 그분의 의도가 죽임을 당하는 것이었으며 그러한 죽임 당함 가운데서 우리는 몰약의 향기를 맡을 수 있습니다. 우리가 예수의 전기인 사복음서를 읽는다면 예수의 생애에 황금과 유황과 몰약이 매우 많았음을 보게 될 것입니다. 그분은 항상 부활의 생명을 사셨으며 항상 십자가의 죽음 아래 계셨습니다. 그분은 십자가에 죽으실 때까지 삼십삼 년 반을 기다리시지 않았습니다. 그분의 전 생애를 통하여 계속적으로 십자가 위에서 죽임을 당하셨습니다. 따라서 그분은 단지 부활의 향기뿐 아니라 또한 십자가의 달콤한 몰약을 갖고 계셨습니다. Words of Ministry

Myrrh signifies death and also the fragrance of death. Among the human race, death has no fragrance; however, with Jesus there was the fragrance of death. When Jesus was twelve years old, He went to Jerusalem with His parents. Because He was burdened to see what people were doing in His Father's house, the temple, He stayed in Jerusalem after the feast. Mary and Joseph did not understand Him. They looked for Him and eventually found Him in the temple. In a sense, Mary rebuked Him....[However, He did not argue.] He went along with them and returned with them to Nazareth. That was a real killing to Him. His intention was killed, and in that killing we can smell myrrh. That was not the fragrance of frankincense; it was the sweet aroma of myrrh. If we read the four Gospels, the biographies of Jesus, we shall see that in the life of Jesus the gold, the frankincense, and the myrrh were very prevalent. He was always living the resurrection life, and He was constantly under the killing of the cross. He did not wait until thirty-three and a half years had passed before He went to the cross to be crucified. Throughout His whole life He was continually being crucified on the cross. Thus, He had not only the fragrance of resurrection, but also the sweet myrrh of the cross.
