그리스도 없이 성경만 가짐

성경말씀

(요5:39~40) 여러분이 성경 안에서 영원한 생명을 얻는 줄로 생각하기 때문에 성경을 자세히 연구하는데, 이 성경은 바로 나에 대하여 증언하는 것입니다. 그런데 여러분은 생명을 얻기 위하여 나에게 오려고 하지 않습니다.

오늘의 만나

예루살렘에 있는 어떤 종교적인 사람도 동방 박사들과 함께 베들레헴으로 가지 않았습니다. 이것은 참으로 이상합니다. 만일 여러분이 그 제사장들 가운데 한 명이었다면 예수가 참으로 베들레헴에서 태어났는가를 보기 위해 박사들과 함께 가지 않았겠습니까? 만일 내가 거기 있었더라면 나는 분명히 그리스도가 실제로 태어나셨는지를 스스로 알아보기 위해 갔을 것입니다. 그러나 그들 중 아무도 가지 않았습니다. 그들에게는 지식이 있었고 사람들에게 메시야가 베들레헴에서 태어나실 것이라고 말해줄 수 있었지만 그들 중 아무도 스스로는 가지 않았습니다. 그들은 지식을 위할 뿐 메시야의 사신 인격을 위하지는 않았습니다. 오늘날의 상황은 어떻습니까? 많은 사람들이 매우 영적이지만 그들은 성경만을 주의할 뿐 사신 그리스도를 관심하지 않습니다. 만일 유대의 종교인들이 그리스도를 관심했다면 그들은 고대의 여행 방법으로도 예루살렘으로부터 멀지 않은 베들레헴에 갔을 것입니다. 베들레헴은 멀지 않았지만 서기관들이나 장로들이나 제사장들 중 누구도 가기를 원하지 않았습니다. 이것은 여러분이 사신 그리스도를 위한 마음가짐이 없이 성경 지식을 가질 수 있다는 것을 입증합니다. 이상을 갖는 것이 한 방면이고 성경의 지식을 갖는 것은 다른 방면이며 사신 그리스도를 위한 마음을 갖는 것은 또 다른 방면입니다. 우리는 모두 "주 예수님, 나에게 당신을 위한 마음을 주소서. 나는 이상을 보기 원하고 성경을 알기 원합니다. 그러나 나는 더욱더 당신을 추구하는 마음을 갖기 원합니다."라고 기도해야 합니다. Having the Scriptures without a Heart for the Living Christ

John 5:39 You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is these that testify concerning Me. (40) Yet you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

None of the religious people in Jerusalem went with the magi to Bethlehem. This is quite strange. If you had been a priest among those priests, would you not have gone with the wise men to see if Jesus had actually been born in Bethlehem? If I had been there, I certainly would have gone to find out for myself whether or not Christ had actually been born. But none of them went. They had knowledge and they could tell people that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem; yet none of them went for themselves. Although they were for the knowledge of the Bible, they were not for the living Person of the Messiah. How about today's situation? Many are very scriptural, but they care only for the Scriptures, not for the living Christ. If the Jewish religionists had cared for Christ, they would have gone to Bethlehem, which was not far from Jerusalem even by the ancient method of travel. Although Bethlehem was not far, none of the scribes, elders, or priests bothered to go. This proves that you can have the knowledge of the Bible without having a heart for the living Christ. To have the vision is one thing, to have the knowledge of the Bible is another thing, and to have a heart for the living Christ is still another thing. We all need to pray, “Lord, give me a heart for You. I want to see the vision and I want to know the Bible. But even more, I want to have a heart that seeks You.”
