진리 이만나

사랑과 믿음은 함께 함

성경말씀

(갈5:6) 그리스도 예수님 안에서는 할례나 무할례가 아무 효력이 없고, 사랑을 통하여 작용하는 믿음만이 효력이 있습니다. 
(엡6:23) 하나님 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도에게서 온 평안과, 그리고 믿음을 겸한 사랑이 형제들에게 있기를 바랍니다.

오늘의 만나

여러분은 믿음이 사랑을 통해서 역사한다는 것을 알고 있습니까? 복음을 듣고 회개하고 나서 주 예수님을 귀히 여기게 되고 그분이 전적으로 사랑스럽게 느껴지는 사람은 강한 믿음을 갖게 됩니다. 이 믿음은 주님에 대한 그의 사랑을 통해 역사합니다. 우리가 주님을 사랑하면 할수록 그분 안에 있는 우리의 믿음은 더욱 강해집니다. 이것이 갈라디아서에 있는 바울의 사상입니다. 그러나 에베소서는 믿음이 아닌 사랑을 강조합니다. 에베소서에서의 바울의 관심은 구원이 아니라 지속되는 것과 교통입니다. 이것은 믿음을 겸한 사랑을 요구합니다. 만일 우리가 의심과 의문 때문에 믿음이 약해진다면 주님을 사랑하기가 어렵다는 것을 알게 될 것입니다. 믿음이 손상될 때마다 사랑도 손상될 것입니다. 그분을 사랑함으로써 계속 주님과의 교통안에 남아 있으려면 강한 믿음이 필요합니다. 그러므로 우리는 사랑을 통해 역사하는 믿음과 믿음을 겸한 사랑이 둘 다 필요합니다. 이미 지적한 대로 사랑은 하나님께로부터 나옵니다. 이는 사랑이 하나님 편에 있음을 뜻합니다. 이에 반하여 믿음은 우리 편에 있습니다. 그러므로 "믿음을 겸한 사랑"이라는 말은 하나님과 우리 사이의 교통을 함축하고 있습니다. 사랑은 하나님으로부터 우리에게 오고 믿음은 우리로부터 하나님께로 갑니다. 하나님은 우리에게 사랑을 주시고 우리는 믿음으로 반응합니다. 이것이 사랑과 믿음 사이의 교통입니다. 이 교통을 통해 평안이 우리의 분깃으로 남아 있게 됩니다. 우리는 우리에게 오는 하나님의 사랑과 그분께 가는 우리의 믿음에 의해 평안 가운데 보존됩니다. Love and Faith Go Together

Do you know that your faith operates through love? A person who hears the gospel, repents, and then comes to appreciate the Lord Jesus and feel that He is altogether lovable, will have a strong faith. This faith operates through his love for the Lord. The more we love the Lord, the stronger will be our faith in Him. This is Paul's thought in Galatians. Ephesians, however, emphasizes love, not faith. In Ephesians Paul's concern is not salvation, but continuation and fellowship. This requires love with faith. If our faith is weakened because we accept doubts and questions, we shall find it difficult to love the Lord. Whenever faith is damaged, love will be damaged also. In order to continue in fellowship with the Lord through loving Him, we need a strong faith. Therefore, we need both the faith that operates through love and the love that is with faith. We have pointed out that love is from God. This means that love is on God's side. Faith, on the contrary, is on our side. Hence, the phrase “love with faith” implies traffic between God and us and between us and God. Love is from God to us, and faith is from us to God. God gives us love, and we respond with faith. This is the traffic between love and faith. Through this traffic peace remains our portion. We are kept in peace by God's love coming to us and by our faith going to Him.
