바라봄으로 변화됨

성경말씀

(고후4:6) 왜냐하면 어두운 데서 빛이 비치라고 말씀하신 그 하나님은 우리 마음속에 빛을 비추시어 예수 그리스도의 얼굴에 있는 하나님의 영광을 아는 지식을 밝히신 분이시기 때문입니다.
(3:18) 그러나 우리 모두는 너울을 벗은 얼굴로 거울처럼 주님의 영광을 바라보고 반사함으로써 그분과 동일한 형상으로 변화되어 영광에서 영광에 이릅니다. 이것은 주 영에서 비롯됩니다.

오늘의 만나

고린도후서 4장 6절의 얼굴이란 말은 주님의 얼굴 빛, 즉 그분의 임재를 언급합니다. 우리 안에 주 예수님의 임재를 갖는 것이 얼마나 필요한지요! 그분의 임재는 바로 하나님의 영광입니다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 영광이 그리스도의 얼굴 안에 있기 때문입니다. 우리가 그리스도의 임재 안에 그리고 그분의 얼굴 앞에 있을 때, 우리는 영광 안에 있는 것입니다. 오늘날 우리의 필요는 주님의 영광을 보고 반사하는 것입니다. 우리가 그분의 영광을 볼수록 우리는 영광에서 영광으로 주의 영으로 말미암아 변화됩니다. 그리스도께서 그분 자신을 우리 안으로 역사하시는 것은 행동이나 자기 개선의 문제가 아닙니다. 그것은 우리 존재가 내적으로 하나님의 빛나는 영광으로 적셔지는 문제입니다. 단단하고 차갑고 검은 쇠막대기가 불 속으로 넣어졌다고 합시다. 불은 쇠에 침투되어 쇠를 벌겋게 달아오르게 할 것입니다. 이럴 때 그 쇠는 자체의 천연적인 색을 상실하고 백열될 것입니다. 이제 그 쇠는 빛나고 달아오릅니다. 그러나 어떤 사람이 그 쇠에게 빛을 내라고 가르친다면 그것은 소용없을 뿐 아니라 어리석은 것입니다. 이 쇠가 계속 달아오르려면 반드시 불 속에 남아 있어야 합니다. 만약 불 밖으로 나와 어느 정도 시간이 지난다면, 그 본래의 색과 어두움으로 돌아갈 것입니다. 이와 비슷한 방법으로 오늘날 우리에게 필요한 것은 문자로 된 교리가 아니라 하나님의 내주하는 영광이신 그리스도에 의해 불태워지고 그분으로 적셔지는 것입니다. 2 Corinthians 4:6 ...[God] shined in our hearts to illuminate the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 3:18 But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit.

Words of Ministry

The word face here refers to the Lord's countenance, to His presence. How we need to have the presence of the Lord Jesus within us! His presence is the very glory of God, for the glory of God is in the face of Christ. When we are in the presence of Christ and before His countenance, we are in glory. Our need today is to behold and reflect the glory of the Lord. As we behold His glory, we are transformed...by the Lord Spirit from glory to glory. Christ's working Himself into us is not a matter of behavior or self-improvement. It is a matter of our being inwardly saturated with the Shekinah glory of God. Suppose a steel rod, hard, cold, and black, is thrust into fire and held there. Eventually, the fire will saturate the steel and cause it to glow. In this way the steel loses its natural color and becomes white hot. Now the steel is shining, glowing. However, it would be useless, even ridiculous, for someone to teach steel to shine. If this steel is to keep on glowing, however, it must remain in the fire. If it is kept out of the fire for any length of time, its natural color and darkness will return. In a similar way, what we need today is not doctrine in letters; we need to be burned by Christ and saturated with Him as the indwelling glory of God.
