종교 대 그리스도

(요10:30~33) 나와 아버지는 하나입니다. 유대인들이 다시 돌을 들어 예수님을 치려고 하자 예수님께서 그들에게 "내가 아버지에게서 나온 선한 일을 여러분에게 많이 보여 주었는데, 그중에 어떤 일로 나를 돌로 치려고 하십니까?"라고 하시니 유대인들이 예수님께 대답하였다. "우리가 그대를 돌로 치려고 하는 것은 선한 일 때문이 아니라, 하나님을 모독하기 때문입니다. 그대는 사람이면서 하나님으로 자처하고 있습니다."

오늘의 만나

요한복음 10장에서의 유대인은 종교를 대표하는 종교적인 유대인들입니다. 요한복음을 주의깊게 읽는다면 여러분은 어떻게 건전하고 참된 종교가 생명이신 그리스도를 반대하는가를 볼 것입니다. 이 복음서의 처음 열 장에서 우리 주님이 당하신 유일한 반대는 유대 종교로부터 왔습니다. 종교는 그분을 반대했고, 배척했고, 거절하고 핍박했습니다. 요한복음 5장에서 우리는 생명에 대한 종교의 극한 반대를 봅니다. 이것은 주 예수께서 무기력한 사람을 안식일에 소생시켰다는 사실 때문이었습니다. 그것이 유대인들에게는 주님이 안식일에 대한 그들의 규례를 깨뜨리는 것처럼 보였습니다. 따라서 그들은 주님을 반대하기 시작했습니다. 사실상 그들은 주님을 심히 반대하기 시작했습니다. 이 사례에 의해서 우리는 종교의 규정과 규례들이 필요한 사람들에게 생명이 되시는 주님을 얼마나 반대하는가를 볼 수 있습니다. 우리의 생명이신 주님과 모든 규정과 규례들을 가진 종교는 다릅니다. 생명이신 그리스도와 규례를 가진 종교는 결코 함께 갈 수 없습니다. 요한복음 9장에서 그분은 소경에게 시력을 주셨습니다. 그분은 이것을 의도적으로 안식일에 행하셨습니다. 왜 주 예수님은 안식일 전이나 후에 소경에게 가시지 않으셨습니까? 그분은 종교의 죽은 의식을 의도적으로 깨뜨리기 위해서 그렇게 하셨습니다. 이것은 생명에 대한 종교의 반대를 일으켰습니다. 주님은 종교적인 유대인들의 눈 앞에서 의도적으로 안식일의 규정을 깨뜨리셨습니다. 소경의 눈은 보게 되었지만, 바리새인들의 눈은 그들의 반대로 인하여 소경이 되었습니다. 이 복음서의 처음 열 장에서 우리는 종교와 생명 사이의 싸움 또는 투쟁을 봅니다. 결국 주님은 그 종교를 버리고 종교 밖으로 나오셨습니다. 그분은 지금 어디 계십니까? 그분은 종교 밖에 계십니다. 그분은 종교와 아무 관계가 없습니다. 이제 그분의 새로운 위치 안에는 종교적인 요소가 없습니다. 종교의 모든 요소가 제거되었습니다. John 10:30~33 I and the Father are one. The Jews again took up stones that they might stone Him. Jesus answered them, I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of these works are you stoning Me? The Jews answered Him, We are not stoning You for a good work, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a man, are making Yourself God.

Words of Ministry

[The Jews in this chapter were the religious Jews representing religion] By reading this book carefully, you will even see how the sound and genuine religion opposes Christ as life. Within the first ten chapters of this gospel, the only opposition our Lord met came from the Jewish religion. Religion opposed Him, rejected Him, repudiated Him and persecuted Him... In chapter five we see religion's opposition to life fully aroused. This was due to the fact that the Lord Jesus enlivened the impotent man on the Sabbath day. To the Jews, it seemed that He broke their regulations about the Sabbath. Consequently, they began to oppose Him. In fact, they began to be very much against the Lord. By this case we can see how the rules and regulations of religion are in opposition to the Lord as life to the needy. The Lord who is our life is one thing, but religion with all of its rules and regulations is another. In chapter nine, He gave sight to a blind man. He purposely did this on the Sabbath day. Why did not the Lord Jesus go to the blind man before or after the Sabbath day? He did it purposely to break the dead rituals of dead religion. That stirred religion's opposition against life. The Lord purposely broke the Sabbath regulation before the eyes of the religious Jews. The eyes of the blind man received sight, but the eyes of the Pharisees received blindness due to their opposition. In the first ten chapters of this gospel we see the fighting, the struggle, between religion and life. Eventually, the Lord deserted that religion and went outside of it. Where is He now? He is outside of religion. He has nothing to do with it. Now, in His new standing, there is no religious element. All the elements of religion have been excluded.
