섬김으로 바쁘지 않고 조용히 들음(1)

성경말씀

(눅10:38~42) 예수님의 일행이 길을 가다가 어떤 마을에 들어가니, 마르다라는 여인이 예수님을 자기 집에 영접하였는데, 그녀에게 마리아라는 동생이 있었다. 마리아는 주님의 발 앞에 앉아서 주님의 말씀을 듣고 있었으나, 마르다는 시중드는 일이 많아 분주하였다. 마르다가 예수님께 와서 "주님, 내 동생이 나 혼자 일하도록 내버러 두는데도 상관하지 않으십니까? 마리아에게 나를 거들어 주라고 말씀해 주십시오"라고 하자, 주님께서 마르다에게 대답하셨다. "마르다여, 마르다여, 그대가 많은 일로 염려하며 애쓰지만, 필요한 것은 한 가지뿐입니다. 마리아는 좋은 편을 선택하였으니, 빼앗기지 않을 것입니다."

오늘의 만나

주님께서 베다니에 오셨을 때 마르다는 그분을 영접하여 섬겼습니다. 그러나 마르다는 그녀 자신의 관념과 이해에 따라 구주를 섬겼습니다. 그녀는 주님께서 오랜 여행 뒤라 물질적인 것들로 섬김을 받고자 하신다고 생각했을 것입니다. 그러므로 그녀는 사람-구주를 위해 많은 것들을 하느라 분주했습니다. 주님께서 베다니에 있는 마르다의 집으로 오셨을 때, 그분의 바람이 물질적인 것들로 섬김을 받는 것이었다고 생각합니까? 확실히 음식으로 섬김을 받는 것은 그분의 바라는 것이 아니었습니다. 반대로 그분의 바람은 그분의 구원받은 자들이 그분의 마음에 있는 것을 알기 위해 그분의 말씀을 듣는 것이었습니다. 주님은 먹는 것에 대해 관심하지 않으셨습니다. 그분은 그분을 사랑하는 자들이 잠잠히 그분과 함께 앉아 그분의 말씀을 듣고 그분이 말씀하시는 것에 집중하기를 원하셨습니다. 이렇게 그들은 그분의 갈망과 선호를 알게 될 것입니다. 누가복음 10장 39절에서 마리아는 주님의 발 앞에 앉아 그분의 말씀을 듣고 있었습니다. 후에 그녀는 그분의 죽음에 앞서 그분께 부을 향유를 예비하였습니다. 마리아는 어떻게 이것을 알았습니까? 나는 그녀가 구주께서 말씀하시는 것을 들음으로 말미암아 이것을 알게 되었다고 믿습니다. 구주의 발 앞에 앉아 그분의 말씀을 들음으로써 그녀는 그분의 갈망과 선호를 알게 되었습니다. 10장 38절부터 42절에서 마르다는 매우 바빴고 주님을 바쁘시게 하려고 애쓰고 있었습니다. 그녀는 주님과 그녀의 동생인 마리아를 포함한 그 상황을 보았습니다. 마리아는 아무 것도 하지 않고 있었습니다. 그녀는 단순히 주님의 발 앞에 앉아 그분의 말씀을 듣고 있었으며 주님은 마리아의 잠잠함을 인정하시는 듯 했습니다. Not Busy Serving, but Silently Listening (1)

Luke 10:38 Now as they went, He entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received Him into her home. (39) And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at the Lord's feet and was listening to His word. (40) But Martha was being drawn about with much serving, and she came up to Him and said, Lord, does it not matter to You that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to do her part with me. (41) But the Lord answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; (42) But there is need of one thing, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Words of Ministry

When the Lord came to Bethany, Martha received Him and served Him. However, Martha served the Savior according to her own concept and understanding. She thought that after making a long journey the Lord wanted to be served with material things. Therefore, she was busy in doing many things for the Man-Savior. Do you think that when the Lord came into Martha's home in Bethany His desire was to be served with material things? To be sure, it was not His desire to be served with food. On the contrary, His desire was that His saved ones would listen to Him in order to know what was on His heart. The Lord did not care about eating; He wanted those who loved Him to be silent, to sit with Him, to listen to Him, and to concentrate on His speaking. In this way they would know His desire and preference. In 10:39 Mary sat at the Lord's feet listening to His word. Later, she prepared ointment to anoint Him before His death. How did Mary know to do this? I believe she came to know this through listening to the Savior's speaking. By sitting at the Savior's feet and listening to His word, she came to know His desire and preference. In 10:38-42 Martha was very busy in many directions, and she was trying to make the Lord busy. She saw the situation involving the Lord and her sister, Mary. Mary was not doing anything. She was simply sitting at the Lord's feet and listening to His word, and the Lord seemed to appreciate Mary's silence.
