마음이 위로받도록 분투함

성경말씀

(골2:2) 그렇게 함으로써 그들이 마음에서 위로를 받고 사랑 안에서 함께 짜여, 깨달음에서 오는 넘치는 확신으로 온전히 풍성하게 되어서 하나님의 비밀이신 그리스도를 온전히 알게 됩니다. 
(엡5:29) 아무도 자기 육신을 미워하지 않습니다. 오히려 보양하고 보살펴 줍니다. 그리스도도 교회를 이같이 대하십니다.

오늘의 만나

골로새서 2장 2절에서 볼 때 '마음'은 아주 중요한 의미를 지니고 있습니다. 여기서 바울은 그리스도에 관한 계시를 받는 것과 관련하여 마음의 중요성을 강조하고 있습니다. 바울은 만일 우리가 다른 이들을 그리스도 안에서 장성한 자로 드리고자 한다면 우리는 그들의 마음의 상태를 주의해야 한다는 것을 알았습니다. 골로새에 있던 교회에 유대교의 규례와 규정, 이교도의 철학, 신비주의, 금욕주의가 침입해 들어 왔습니다. 이러한 것들로 인해 성도들이 의견을 갖게 되고, 나뉘고, 불평하게 되었습니다. 그것들로 인해 또한 성도들이 마음의 상처를 받고, 차갑게 되고, 나뉘어지고, 서로간에 분열되었습니다. 그러므로 바울은 성도들의 마음이 위로받고, 사랑 안에서 연합되도록 분투했던 것입니다. 이 구절에서 '위로 받는 것'은 소중히 품음을 받고, 사랑으로 따뜻하게 되는 것입니다. 에베소서 5장 29절은 그리스도께서 그분의 교회를 양육하고 소중히 품는다고 말합니다. 양육하는 것은 먹이는 것이고, 소중히 품는 것은 따뜻하게 하는 것입니다. 골로새에 있는 성도들은 주님의 소중히 품으심이 필요했습니다. 그들의 마음이 위로받고 따뜻하게 될 필요가 있었습니다. 바울은 그들의 마음이 사랑 안에서 연합하는 것에 대해 말합니다. "사랑 안에서 함께 짜여"라는 말은 어떤 류의 분열이 이미 발생했고, 사랑이 없어진 것을 가리킵니다. 몰래 기어들어온 규례와 규정과 철학으로 인해 사랑이 사라진 것입니다. ( 발췌문 : 하단 영문 참조)

Struggling for the Hearts to be Comforted

Words of Ministry

In Colossians the heart is of crucial significance. Here Paul emphasizes the importance of the heart in receiving the revelation concerning Christ. Paul knew that if we would present others full-grown in Christ, we must be concerned about the condition of their hearts. The church in Colossae had been invaded by Jewish ordinances and observances and by pagan philosophy, mysticism, and asceticism. These things caused the saints to become opinionated, dissenting, and dissatisfied. They also caused the hearts of the saints to be hurt and to become cold, divided, and separated from one another. Therefore, Paul struggled on behalf of the saints that their hearts would be comforted and knit together in love. In this verse to be comforted means to be cherished, that is, to be lovingly warmed up. Ephesians 5:29 says that Christ nourishes and cherishes His church. To nourish is to feed, and to cherish is to make warm. How the saints in Colossae needed the Lord's cherishing! Their hearts needed to be comforted, to be warmed. Paul speaks of the hearts being knit together in love. The words “knit together in love” indicate that some kind of separation had taken place and that there had been a loss of love. The different observances, ordinances, and philosophies that had crept in had caused this loss of love.
