본질적인 영과 경륜적인 영 (2)

성경말씀

(요7:37下~39) ...누구든지 목마르거든 나에게로 와서 마시십시오. 나를 믿는 사람은 성경에서 말한 대로 그의 가장 깊은 곳에서 생수의 강들이 흘러나올 것입니다. 이것은 예수님을 믿은 사람들이 받을 그 영에 대해 말한 것이다. 예수님께서 아직 영광스럽게 되지 않으셨기 때문에, 그 영께서 아직 계시지 않았다. 
(눅 24:49) "보십시오, 내 아버지께서 약속하신 것을 내가 여러분에게 보낼 것이니, 여러분은 높은 데서 오는 능력을 입을 때까지 이 성에 머물러 있도록 하십시오."

오늘의 만나

요한복음에서 부활 안에 있는 생명의 영은 우리가 마시는 물에 비유됩니다. 누가복음 24장 49절에서 경륜적인 영은 우리가 입는 옷에 비유됩니다. 물은 내적으로 생명을 위한 것이고, 옷은 외적으로 일을 위한 것입니다. 내적인 생명을 위한 본질적인 영과 외적인 능력을 위한 경륜적인 영과의 차이에 대한 예로 경찰관을 들 수 있습니다. 경찰관은 목마름을 해결할 목적으로 제복을 입지 않습니다. 제복을 입는다고 해서 갈증을 해결할 수 있는 것이 아니기 때문입니다. 경찰관은 의무를 행하려고 할 때 즉 경찰관으로서의 일을 하려고 할 때 제복을 입습니다. 가령 경찰관이 목마름을 해결하기 위해 무언가를 마시고서, 제복을 입지 않고 나가서 일한다고 해봅시다. 만일 그렇게 한다면, 그가 거리에서 어떤 명령을 내린다 하더라도 아무도 주의하지 않을 것입니다. 그가 목마름을 해결하기 위해 얼마나 많이 마셨든, 그는 여전히 경찰관으로서의 일을 하기 위해 제복을 입어야만 합니다. 만일 그가 제복을 입는다면, 다른 사람들은 그를 존중할 것입니다. 이러한 예를 통해 마시는 것과 옷을 입는 것의 차이점을 볼 수 있습니다. 마시는 것은 내적인 문제이고, 옷입는 것은 외적인 문제입니다. The Essential Spirit and the Economical Spirit (2)

John (7:37~39) ...If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes into Me, as the Scripture said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. But this He said concerning the Spirit, whom those who believed into Him were about to receive; for the Spirit was not yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified. Luke 24:49 And behold, I send forth the promise of My Father upon you; but as for you, stay in the city until you put on power from on high.

Words of Ministry

In the Gospel of John the Spirit of life in resurrection is likened to water for us to drink. In Luke 24:49 the economical Spirit is likened to clothing that we put on. Water is for life inwardly, and clothing is for work outwardly. Let us use a policeman as an illustration of the difference between the essential Spirit for life inwardly and the economical Spirit for power outwardly. A policeman does not put on his uniform in order to quench his thirst. Thirst cannot be quenched by putting on a uniform. A policeman clothes himself with a uniform when he is about to go on duty, that is, when he is ready to work as a policeman. Suppose a policeman drank something to quench his thirst and then went to work without his uniform. If he did this, no one would pay attention to him as he tried to give orders on the street. No matter how much he may drink to quench his thirst, a policeman still must put on his uniform when he is about to work as a policeman. If he is clothed in his uniform, others will respect him. Through this illustration we can see the difference between drinking and being clothed. Drinking is inward, but being clothed is an outward matter.
