복음서들에는 놀라운 한 인격에 대한 계시가 있습니다. 이 인격은 구약에서 여호와라는 이름으로 불리우신 영원하신 하나님이십니다. 그분은 우주 전체와 사람을 창조하신 분이십니다. 창세기 3장 15절에서 그분은 어느 날, 여자의 씨가 될 것이라고 예언되셨습니다. 그러나 그 약속은 인류 역사의 4천년 이라는 시간이 흐르기까지 성취되지 않았었습니다. 이제 주 예수님께서 여자의 씨가 되셨습니다. 그분은 동정녀의 태에 잉태되신, 바로 그 하나님으로서 오셨습니다. 이 전능하신 하나님, 영원하신 여호와, 우주의 창조자께서 동정녀의 태에 잉태되고, 그 동정녀로부터 나서, 신성한 본성과 사람의 본성이라는 두 본성을 가진 한 인격이 되셨습니다. 이것은 그분이 하나님-사람 즉 완전한 하나님과 온전한 사람이신 분으로 태어났다는 것을 의미합니다. 우리는 그분 안에서 신성한 본성과 속성을 지니신 하나님을 봅니다. 또한 우리는 그분 안에서 사람의 본성과 사람의 모든 미덕을 지니신 사람을 봅니다. 그러므로 우리는 이 놀라운 인격 안에서 완전한 하나님과 온전한 사람 둘 다를 볼 수 있습니다.

  In the Gospels we have the unveiling of a wonderful Person. This Person is the eternal God, the One called by the name Jehovah in the Old Testament. He is the Creator of the entire universe and of man. In Genesis 3:15 He prophesied that one day He would become a seed of woman. That promise went unfulfilled until the expiration of the first four thousand years of human history. Then the Lord Jesus came as the seed of the woman. He came as the very God conceived in the womb of a human virgin. The almighty God, the eternal Jehovah, the Creator of the universe, was conceived in the womb of a virgin and was born of that virgin to be a Person with two natures-the divine nature and the human nature. This means that He was born as the God-man, the One who is both the complete God and a perfect man. In Him we see God with His divine nature and attributes. In Him we also see man in the human nature and with all the human virtues. Therefore, in this one Person we can see both the complete God and a perfect man.
