| 행14:21~22 ... 루스드라와 이고니온과 안디옥으로 돌아가서 제자들의 혼을 견고하게 하고, 항상 믿음 안에 머물러 있으라고 권유하며 "우리가 하나님의 왕국에 들어가려면 많은 환난을 겪어야 합니다." 라고 말하였다. (딤전1:3~4) ... 어떤 사람들에게 명령하여 다른 것들을 가르치지 못하게 하고, 또 꾸며 낸 이야기와 끝없는 족보에 주의를 기울이지 못하게 하려는 것이었습니다. 그런 것들은 믿음 안에 있는 하나님의 경륜을 이루기보다는 오히려 의심을 불러일으킵니다. | |

사도행전 14장 22절에 있는 사도의 권면은 13장 43절에 있는 것보다 더 전진된 것입니다. 사도행전 13장 43절에서 믿는이들은 하나님의 은혜 안에 항상 있으라고 권함을 받았습니다. 다시 말해서 은혜이신 삼일 하나님의 누림 안에 항상 거하도록 격려받았습니다. 이제 사도행전 14장 22절에서는 믿음 안에 항상 머물러 있으라는 권함을 받습니다. 이는 매우 깊고 심오한 문제인 하나님의 신약경륜에 관한 완전한 계시를 알고 그 안에 항상 머물러 있으라고 권함을 받는 것입니다. 루스드라와 이고니온과 안디옥에 있는 믿는이들은 일 년이 채 안된 믿는이들이었습니다. 이전에 바울과 바나바가 이 도시들을 방문했을 때 교회들이 세워지게 되었습니다. 그후 바울과 바나바가 다른 곳으로 떠났다가 다시 루스드라와 이고니온과 안디옥에 돌아왔습니다. 우리가 본 것처럼 바울과 바나바는 그곳의 제자들을 권하여 은혜안에 뿐만 아니라, 믿음 안에 항상 머물러 있으라고 권유했습니다. 하나님의 은혜 안에 항상 있으라는 말씀은 13장에서 새로운 믿는이들에게 하였습니다. 그들은 구원받자마자 삼일 하나님의 누림 안에 항상 있으라는 사도의 권면을 받았습니다. 루스드라와 이고니온과 안디옥에 있는 믿는이들은 틀림없이 얼마간은 하나님의 은혜 안에 항상 머물렀을 것입니다. 사도행전 14장에 나타난 바에 따르면 그들은 그 기간 동안 하나님의 신약경륜에 대하여 상당한 인식을 얻었을 것입니다. 그들이 배운 것은 모두 그들에게 있어서 믿음의 인식이 되었습니다. 이것에 기초하여 바울과 바나바는 그들을 권하여 믿음 안에 항상 머물러 있으라고 권유한 것입니다.

The apostles' entreaty in 14:22 is an improvement over that in 13:43. We have seen that in 13:43 the believers were persuaded to continue in the grace of God; that is, they were encouraged to continue in the enjoyment of the Triune God as grace. Now in 14:22 they are entreated to continue in the faith; that is, they are encouraged to know and continue in the full revelation concerning God's New Testament economy, a matter that is very deep and profound. The believers at Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch had been believers less than a year. When Paul and Barnabas first visited those cities, churches were raised up. Then Paul and Barnabas left for other places and eventually returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch. As we have seen, they entreated the disciples there to continue not only in the grace but also in the faith. The word about continuing in the grace of God was given in chapter thirteen to new converts. Immediately after they were saved, they were persuaded by the apostles to stay in the enjoyment of the Triune God. The believers at Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch must have continued in the grace of God for some time. According to what is indicated in Acts 14, they must have learned quite much of God's New Testament economy during that period of time. What they learned became for them the knowledge of the faith.
