골로새서 3장 11절의 '모든 것'이라는 말은 새사람을 구성하는 모든 지체를 가리킵니다. 그리스도는 모든 지체들이시며, 그분은 모든 지체 안에 계십니다. 이러한 이유로 교회 안에서는 우리를 위한 여지가 없습니다. 어떤 민족을 위한 여지도 없습니다. 우리는 새사람의 일부로서 우리 자신을 중국인이나, 미국인이나, 독일인이나, 아니면 어떤 다른 민족으로 여겨서는 안 됩니다. 심지어 당신은 그저 그런 사람이라고 말해서도 안 됩니다. 그리스도는 새사람 안에서 모든 것이시고, 모든 것 안에 계시고, 당신은 새사람의 일부이므로, 당신은 그리스도의 일부입니다. 새사람의 각 지체, 각 부분이 그리스도입니다. 새사람 안에는 어떤 천연적인 사람도 없다는 것을 말하는 골로새서 3장 11절은 매우 강한 구절입니다. 문맥에 따르면 3장 10절의 새사람은 분명히 새자아를 언급하는 것이 아닙니다. 왜냐하면 새사람은 서로 다른 많은 문화적 배경으로부터 온 믿는이들로 구성되기 때문입니다. 이것은 이른바 새자아에 대해 말하는 것이 아닙니다. 의심할 바 없이 여기의 새사람은 단체적인 사람, 교회 즉 그리스도의 몸입니다. 비록 서로 다른 많은 종류의 사람들이 교회를 구성하지만, 모든 사람이 그리스도의 부분입니다. 그들은 더이상 천연적인 사람이 아닙니다. 그리스도는 새사람 안에서 모든 사람이시고, 그분은 새사람 안에서 모든 사람 안에 계십니다. 그리스도가 모든 것이시며, 모든 것 안에 계시다는 것을 보는 것은 얼마나 엄청난 이상인지요!

  The word all in verse 11 refers to all the members who make up the new man. Christ is all these members, and He is in all the members. For this reason, in the church there is no room for us. There is no room for any nationality. As those who are part of the new man, we should not regard ourselves as Chinese, Americans, Germans, or any other nationality. Do not even say that you are so-and-so. Since Christ is all and in all in the new man and you are part of the new man, then you are part of Christ. Each member, each part, of the new man is Christ. In saying that there cannot be any natural person in the new man, verse 11 is very strong. According to the context, the new man in 3:10 certainly does not denote the new self, for the new man is made up of believers from many different cultural backgrounds. This is not true of the so-called new self. No doubt, the new man here is a corporate man, the church, Christ's Body. Although many different kinds of people make up the church, all are part of Christ. They are no longer the natural person. Christ is everyone in the new man, and He is in everyone in the new man. What a tremendous vision it is to see that Christ is all and in all!
