15 나는 바울의 작가로서의 기술을 좋아합니다. 그는 한편으로는 그리스도의 평강을 강조하고 또 한편으로는 그리스도의 말씀을 강조합니다. 우리 중 어떤 사람은 우리의 영이 살아 있는 한 모든 것이 합당하다고 생각할지 모릅니다. 여러분은 아마 그리스도의 평강이 여러분 안에서 중재하고 그리스도의 말씀이 마음 안에 거처를 정해야 할 필요를 깨닫지 못했을 것입니다. 그리스도의 평강으로 하여금 우리 안에 역사하게 하고 그리스도의 말씀으로 하여금 우리 안에 거하게 한다면 우리는 합당한 그리스도인이 될 것입니다. 우리의 애호 대신에 그리스도의 중재를 가질 것입니다. 우리의 의견과 관념과 사고와 판단 대신 그리스도의 말씀을 가지게 될 것입니다. 15

15 어떤 성도들은 성경을 사랑하고 매일 성경을 읽습니다. 그러나 그들의 생활에서 그들 안에 움직이는 것은 그리스도의 말씀이 아니라 그들의 관념과 의견과 철학입니다. 그들은 성경 공부는 하지만 그리스도의 말씀을 그들 안에 거하게 하지 않으며, 그 말씀으로 하여금 그들 안에서 움직이고 활동하고 그 존재를 갖도록 허용하지 않습니다. 결국 그들의 존재 안에서 지배하는 것은 그리스도의 말씀이 아니라 그들의 철학입니다. 그들이 성경을 읽지만 하나님의 말씀은 그들의 바깥에 남아 있습니다. 우리는 그리스도의 말씀을 우리 안에 들어오게 하고, 거하게 하고, 우리의 관념과 의견과 철학을 대치하게 해야 합니다. 이것은 중요한 것입니다. 15

15 가르치고 권면하고 노래하는 것은 모두 “거하다”는 동사와 관계 있습니다. 이것은 주의 말씀이 우리 안에 풍성히 거하도록 하는 길은 가르치고 권면하고 노래함에 의한다는 것을 가리킵니다. 15

15 Allowing the Word of Christ to Make Home in Our Hearts15

15 Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of Christ arbitrate in your hearts... (16) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.15

15 I appreciate Paul's skill as a writer. He emphasizes, on the one hand, the peace of Christ and, on the other hand, the word of Christ. Some of us may think that as long as our spirit is living, everything is all right. Perhaps you have not realized the need for the peace of Christ to arbitrate within you and for the word of Christ to make home in your heart. If we let the peace of Christ work in us and the word of Christ dwell in us, we shall be proper Christians. Instead of our preference, we shall have Christ's arbitration. Instead of our opinion, concept, thought, and estimation, we shall have Christ's word.15

15 Certain saints love the Bible and read it daily. But in their living it is their concept, opinion, and philosophy that move within them, not the word of Christ. They may study the Bible, but they do not allow the word of Christ to dwell in them. Neither do they permit it to move, act, and have its being in them. As a result, what prevails in their being is their philosophy, not the word of Christ. Although they read the Bible, God's word remains outside of them. It is crucial for us to let the word of Christ enter into us, dwell in us, and replace our concepts, opinions, and philosophies. 15

15 Teaching, admonishing, and singing are all related to the verb dwell. This indicates that the way to let the Lord's word dwell in us richly is by teaching, admonishing, and singing.15
