15 -로마서 3장 24절- 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 구속으로 말미암아 하나님의 은혜로 값 없이 의롭다 하심을 얻은 자 되었느니라 15

15 의나 정의는 법적인 문제입니다. 그러나 반대로 사랑은 감정의 문제입니다. 만일 내가 여러 분을 사랑한다면 나는 여러분에게 주의를 기울일 것입니다. 그러나 만일 내가 여러분을 사 랑하지 않는다면 나는 여러분에 관해 잊어버릴지도 모릅니다. 그렇습니다. 하나님은 세상을 이처럼 사랑하셨습니다. 그러나 그분의 사랑은 그분의 의만큼 견고하지 못합니다. 물론 하나 님의 사랑은 변치 않을 것입니다. 그러나 가령 그분의 사랑이 변했다 가정합시다. 하나님은 자신의 사랑을 바꿀 권리를 갖고 계시지만, 그분의 의를 바꿀 권리는 없으십니다. 하나님이 우리를 사랑하시든지 포기하시든지 그분에게는 잘못이 없습니다. 또 그분이 우리에게 은혜 를 보여주시든지 보여 주시지 않든간에 그분에게는 잘못이 없습니다. 은혜는 하나님의 원하 심의 문제입니다. 그러나 의는 감정의 문제도 아니고 원함의 문제도 아닙니다. 그것은 법적 인 문제인 것입니다. 15

15 법적인 문제는 법률의 집행 곧 법률과 관계있습니다. 하나님의 복음은 전적으로 법적인 문 제 곧 신성한 법률 문제입니다. 하나님은 우리를 법적으로 구원하셨습니다. 물론 하나님의 구원은 그분의 사랑에 의해 시작되었고 그분의 은혜를 통하여 성취되었습니다. 그러나 결국 하나님의 구원은 그분의 의로 귀결됩니다. 그러므로 오늘날 우리가 받은 구원은 단지 사랑 이나 은혜의 문제에 불과한 것이 아니라 하나님의 의의 법적인 문제이기도 합니다. 우리의 구원은 하나님의 의로 인쳐졌고 확증되었습니다. 이제는 하나님 자신도 우리의 구원을 변개 할 수 없으십니다. 15

15 Righteousness, Love, and Grace15

15 Romans 3:21 ...the righteousness of God has been manifested... (22) Even the righteousness of God through the faith of Jesus Christ to all those who believe, for there is no distinction; (24) Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;15

15 Righteousness, or justice, is a judicial matter. Love, on the contrary, is a matter of the emotion. If I love you, I may choose to pay attention to you. But if I do not love you, I may simply forget about you. Yes, God has so loved the world, but His love is not as firm as His righteousness. God, of course, will not change in His love. But suppose His love did change. God has the right to change in His love, but He does not have the right to change in His righteousness. Whether God loves us or gives us up, He is not wrong. He also would not be wrong in showing grace to us or in not showing grace to us. Grace is a matter of God's wish. But righteousness is a matter neither of emotion nor of wish, it is a judicial matter. 15

15 A judicial matter is related to the execution of the law, to legislation. God's gospel is altogether a judicial matter, a matter of divine legislation. God has saved us judicially. Of course, God's salvation is initiated by His love and accomplished through His grace. Eventually, however, it issues in His righteousness. Therefore, the salvation we have received today is not merely a matter of love or of grace, but also a judicial matter of God's righteousness. Our salvation has been sealed and confirmed by God's righteousness. Now not even God Himself can change our salvation. 15
