15 -마태복음 9장 14-15절- 그 때에 요한의 제자들이 예수께 나아와 가로되 우리와 바리새인 들은 금식하는데 어찌하여 당신의 제자들은 금식하지 아니하니이까 예수께서 저희에게 이르 시되 혼인집 손님들이 신랑과 함께 있을 동안에 슬퍼할 수 있느뇨 그러나 신랑을 빼앗길 날 이 이르리니 그 때에는 금식할 것이니라 15

15 침례자 요한은 옛 종교를 버리고 종교밖에 있는 광야에서 그의 사역을 시작했습니다. 그러 나 얼마 안 가서 그의 제자들은 옛 종교의 바리새인들이 그러했듯이 새로운 종교를 형성하 여 사람들이 그리스도를 누리는 것을 방해했습니다. 침례자 요한의 사역은 사람들을 그리스 도에게 소개하는 것이었으며, 그 목적은 그리스도가 그들의 구속자와 생명과 모든 것이 되 게 하기 위해서였습니다. 그러나 그의 제자들 중 어떤 이들은 목표인 그리스도로부터 요한 의 어떤 행습들로 빗나가 그 행습들을 종교로 만들었습니다. 종교적이 된다는 것은 그리스 도 없이 하나님을 위해 무언가 하는 것을 의미합니다. 심지어 성경적이고 근본적인 어떤 것 을 한다 하더라도 그리스도의 임재가 없으면 그것이 종교입니다. 새 시대의 종교인들인 요 한의 제자들과 옛 시대의 종교인들인 바리새인들은 금식을 자주 했지만 그들에게는 그리스 도가 없었습니다. 한편 그들은 금식을 하지는 않지만 그리스도와 함께 그분의 임재 안에 살 았던 주님의 제자들을 정죄했습니다. 15

15 종교를 갖는 것은 하나님을 경배하고 하나님을 섬기고 하나님을 기쁘시게 하기 위하여 무언 가를 하지만 그리스도는 없는 것입니다. 종교는 여러분이 그 영 없이, 그리스도 없이, 하나 님을 위해 행하는 어떤 것입니다. 바리새인들은 하나님을 위하여 상당히 많은 것들을 했지 만 그런 것들 안에 그리스도가 없었습니다. 그들은 많은 것으로 하나님을 섬겼지만 그 영 없이 그것들을 행했습니다. 이제 침례자 요한의 제자들은 그 영 없이, 그리스도 없이 금식하 고 있었습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이 금식은 하나님을 위한 것이었습니다. 따라서 그들은 또 하나의 종교를 형성했습니다. 15

15 Religion Being Something without Christ15

15 Matthew 9:14 Then the disciples of John came to Him, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast much, but Your disciples do not fast? (15) And Jesus said to them, The sons of the bridechamber cannot mourn as long as the Bridegroom is with them, can they?15

15 John the Baptist dropped the old religion and began his ministry in the wilderness outside of religion. However, after a short time, his disciples formed a new religion to frustrate men from enjoying Christ, just as the Pharisees in the old religion did. John the Baptist's ministry was to introduce men to Christ that Christ might become their Redeemer, their life, and their all. However, some of his disciples drifted away from his goal, Christ, to some of John's practices and turned those practices into a religion. To be religious means to do something for God without Christ. To do anything without the presence of Christ, even though it is scriptural and fundamental, is religious. Both the disciples of John, the new-timers of religion, and the Pharisees, the old-timers of religion, fasted much, yet without Christ. They did not own Christ as the Bridegroom, but made fasting a matter of religion. Meanwhile, they condemned the disciples of Christ who did not fast, but had Christ with them and lived in His presence.15

15 To have a religion is to worship God, to serve God, and to do certain things to please God, yet without Christ. A religion is anything you do for God without the Spirit, without Christ. The Pharisees did a great many things for God, but Christ was not in them. They did many things to serve God, but they did them without the Spirit. Now the disciples of John the Baptist were fasting without Christ, without the Spirit. Nevertheless, this fasting was for God. Hence, they formed another religion.15
