15 "요한의 아들 시몬아 네가 이것들보다 나를 더 사랑하느냐" 주님께서 처음부터 이것을 물어15 보신 이유는 베드로가 주님을 배반하기 전날 밤 담대히 주님께 말히기를, 다른 모든 제자가 15 주님을 버릴지라도 그는 주님을 버리지 않겠다고 말했기 때문입니다. 베드로는 죽기까지 주15 님을 따르겠다고 말했습니다. 주님이 "네가 이것들보다 나를 더 사랑하느냐?"고 물으셨을 15 때, 주님은 베드로가 어떤 사람이었는가를 상기시키고 계셨습니다. 그는 자신을 의지하여 자15 랑하는 사람이었습니다.15

15 주님을 향한 베드로의 사랑은 귀하지만 그의 천연적인 힘을 처리되어야 했습니다. 베드로의 15 힘은 두 가지에 의해 처리되었는데, 주님을 부인한 것과 주님의 부르심으로부터 뒤로 물러15 가는 것을 선동함이었습니다. 베드로는 주님을 세 번 부인함으로써 첫 번째 시험에서 실패15 했고 고기 잡으러 감으로써 두 번째 시험에서 실패했습니다. 그러므로 주님은 두 번 시험하15 셨고, 베드로는 두 번 다 실패했습니다. 그가 다소 실망한 이후에 주님은 다시 그분에 대한 15 그의 사랑을 회복하고 교회를 목양할 것을 위임하러 오셨습니다. 그리하여 그는 자신의 천15 연적인 힘에 아무런 확신도 없이 그분을 따르게 되었습니다.15

15 Peter's Failures and Restoration15

15 Matthew 26:75 And Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said, Before a rooster 15 crows, you will deny Me three times. And he went out and wept bitterly .
15 John 21:15 Then when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son 15 of John, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I 15 love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs. 15

15 “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” The reason the Lord asked 15 him this question first was because Peter had boldly told the Lord on the eve of His 15 betrayal that he would not give up the Lord, even though all the other disciples would 15 forsake Him. Peter had said that he would follow the Lord unto death. When the Lord 15 asked him, “Do you love Me more than these?” the Lord was reminding Peter of 15 what he was. He was a man so self-confident and proud...full of natural strength. 15

15 Peter's love toward the Lord was precious, but his natural strength had to be dealt 15 with. Peter's strength was dealt with in two ways: in his denying the Lord and in his 15 taking the lead to backslide from the Lord's call. Peter failed the first test by denying 15 the Lord three times, and he failed the second test by going fishing. Thus, the Lord 15 tested Peter twice, and Peter failed both tests. Since he might have been somewhat 15 disappointed, the Lord came to restore his love toward Him, to charge him with the 15 shepherding of His church... so that he would not follow Him with any confidence in his 15 natural strength. 15
