15 The Life-Generating Death15

15 John 12:23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour has come for the Son of Man 15 to be glorified. (24) Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless the grain of wheat falls into the 15 ground and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

15 The Lord Jesus fell into the ground and died that His divine element, His divine life, 15 might be released from within the shell of His humanity to produce many believers in 15 resurrection (1 Pet. 1:3), just as a grain of wheat has its life element released by falling 15 into the ground and growing up out of the ground to bear much fruit, that is, to bring 15 forth many grains. Instead of receiving a warm welcome, the Lord preferred to fall into 15 the ground and die as a grain of wheat that He might produce many grains for the 15 church. The Lord, as a grain of wheat falling into the ground, lost His soulish life 15 through death that He might release His eternal life in resurrection to the “many 15 grains. ” 15

15 In chapter twelve of John the Lord's death is not revealed as the redeeming death [a 15 lamb dying for our sins as spoken of in John 1:29], but as the producing, generating 15 death. According to this chapter, by His death the Lord had His incarnation shell broken 15 that He might accomplish three purposes: to produce the many grains, draw all men to 15 Himself (vv. 24, 32); to release the divine element, the eternal life (vv. 23, 28); and to 15 judge the world and cast out its ruler (v. 31). 15
