15 21절 이후에 바울의 눈은 열렸습니다. 그는 자신이 다루고 있는 적인 죄가 다름 아닌 법이15 라는 것을 보았습니다. 죄가 법이라는 것을 보았을 때, 그는 탄식하며 "오호라 나는 곤고한 15 사람이로다 이 사망의 몸에서 누가 나를 건져 내랴"고 말했습니다. 그는 그의 의지로 죄를 15 이긴다는 것이 불가능하다는 것을 깨달았습니다.15

15 여러분이 의지로 죄를 이기려고 할 때에도 똑같은 원칙이 적용됩니다. 의지는 죄에 대해 잠15 시동안은 견딜 수 있습니다. 그러나 죄의 능력은 의지의 능력을 훨씬 초과합니다. 죄는 법입15 니다. 이것은 사람의 의지의 거부로 인해 파괴되는 것이 아닙니다. 의지의 능력이 줄어들수15 록, 죄의 법은 드러납니다. 인간의 의지는 영원히 지속될 수 없지만, 죄의 법은 항상 활동합15 니다. 의지는 잠시동안 이길 수 있을지 몰라도, 끝에는 죄의 법이 의지를 이길 것입니다. 15

15 The Law of Sin 15

15 Romans 7:21 I find then the law with me who wills to do the good, that is, the evil is 15 present with me. (22) For I delight in the law of God according to the inner man, (23) 15 But I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind and 15 making me a captive to the law of sin which is in my members. (24) Wretched man 15 that I am! Who will deliver me from the body of this death? 15

15 After verse 21, Paul's eyes were opened. He saw that the enemy he was dealing 15 with-sin-was nothing less than a law. When he saw that sin was a law, he could only 15 sigh and say, "Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from the body of this 15 death?" He realized that it was impossible for him to prevail over sin by his will.15

15 The will is man's own volition. It is what man wants, determines, and decides to do. 15 Once a man's will resolves to do something, he begins to carry it out. Man's will can 15 produce some power. But herein lies the problem. When the will comes in conflict with 15 the law of sin, which one prevails? The will usually prevails at the beginning, but 15 ultimately sin prevails. Suppose you hold up a book with your hand. Gravity is pulling 15 it down while you are trying your best to hold it up. But the unceasing operation of the 15 law of gravity will eventually prevail, and the book will fall to the floor. You may try 15 to hold it up with your hand. You may prevail for an hour, but after two hours you 15 will feel tired, and after another hour your hand will no longer obey you. Eventually, 15 you will let go of it. Gravity never tires out, but your hand does.15

15 The same principle applies when you try to overcome sin with your will. The will can 15 stand against sin for a while. But the power of sin far exceeds the power of the will. 15 Sin is a law; it is not destroyed by the resistance of man's will. Whenever the power 15 of the will slackens, the law of sin surfaces. The human will cannot persist forever, but 15 the law of sin is always active. The will may prevail for a little while, but in the end it 15 will always be overcome by the law of sin.15
