살전1:3 또한 우리는 여러분의 믿음의 일과 사랑의 수고와 우리 주 예수 그리스도께 둔 소망의 인내를 우리 하나님 곧 우리 아버지 앞에서 끊임없이 기억하고 있습니다.

롬8:25 만일 우리가 보지 못하는 것을 소망한다면, 인내하면서 간절히 기다려야 할 것입니다.

오늘의 만나

믿음의 역사와 사랑의 수고에 이어, 계속해서 소망의 인내를 봅시다. 소망은 인내의 근원입니다. 모든 어머니들이 어린아이를 돌보는데 인내가 필요하다는 것을 알고 있습니다. 어머니들이 어린아이를 양육하는 데서 오는 부담을 감당하려면 인내가 필요합니다. 가정생활은 물론 교회생활에서도 우리 모두에게는 인내가 필요합니다. 우리는 훈련받고 교육받아 먼저는 역사하고, 다음에 수고하고, 결국에는 인내해야 합니다. 사도는 인내하는 사람이어야 합니다. 사도가 인내하는 한, 그에게는 사도가 될 자격이 있습니다. 고린도후서 2장에서는 사도 바울의 인내를 볼 수 있습니다. 그러한 인내가 우리의 사역의 최고 수준입니다. 장로들이여! 인내가 장로직분의 최고 수준입니다. 마찬가지로 다른 사람을 돌보는 사역에 있어서는 인내가 대단히 중요합니다. 우리가 성도들을 성공적으로 돌보려면 인내하는 훈련을 해야 합니다. 인내는 즐거움이 아닙니다. 그것은 고통을 수반합니다. 돌본다는 것은 항상 상당한 고통을 포함하고 있습니다. 데살로니가전서 1장 3절에서 바울은 우리 주 예수 그리스도에 대한 소망의 인내를 언급하고 있습니다. 이러한 인내는 주님의 오심에 대한 소망이나 장차 오실 주님에 대한 소망으로 말미암아 생깁니다. 소망은 인내의 근원입니다.

From the work of faith and the labor of love we go on to the endurance of hope. Hope is the source of endurance. All mothers know that caring for children requires endurance. It takes endurance for a mother to bear all the troubles that come with raising children. In the church life as well as in the family life we all need endurance. We must be trained, educated, first to work, then to labor, and eventually to endure. An apostle is one who endures. As long as he has endurance, he is qualified to be an apostle. In 2 Corinthians we can see the endurance of the Apostle Paul. Such endurance is the topstone of our work. Elders, endurance is the topstone of the eldership. Likewise, in the work of shepherding others, endurance is crucial. If we would be successful in shepherding the saints, we must exercise endurance. Endurance involves suffering, not enjoyment. Shepherding always involves an amount of suffering. In 1:3 Paul speaks of the endurance of hope of our Lord Jesus Christ. This endurance comes from the hope in the Lord's coming, or from the hope in the coming Lord. Hope is the source of endurance.
