오늘의 만나

그분의 육체 되심, 십자가에 못 박히심, 부활, 본질적인 영을 내어 쉬심, 승천, 경륜적인 영을 부으심을 오늘날 우리에게 어떻게 적용하는지 설명하기 위해 샌드위치를 만들어 먹는 것을 예로 들어봅시다. 샌드위치를 만들 때 빵 두 조각을 준비합니다. 그런 다음 마요네즈를 빵에 바르고 닭고기, 치즈, 토마토, 양상추를 놓습니다. 샌드위치를 준비할 때는 한 단계 한 단계 나아갈 필요가 있습니다. 그러나 샌드위치를 먹을 때는 그렇지 않습니다. 먼저 빵을 먹고, 그 다음 닭고기를 먹고, 그 다음 다른 재료들을 먹는 것이 아닙니다. 대신 샌드위치의 모든 요소를 동시에 함께 먹습니다. 마찬가지로 그리스도의 육체 되심, 십자가에 못 박히심, 부활, 그 영을 내어 쉬심, 승천, 그 영을 부으심이라는 여섯 가지 항목은 우리에게 동시에 적용됩니다. 그것들은 단계별로 성취되었으나, 우리에게는 동시에 적용됩니다. 샌드위치의 예를 통해 육체 되심은 빵이고, 십자가에 못 박히심은 닭고기이고, 부활, 그 영을 내어 쉬심, 승천, 그 영을 부으심은 또 다른 재료라고 말할 수도 있겠습니다. 우리가 모든 것을 포함한 이 '샌드위치'를 먹을 때, 우리는 먼저 육체 되심의 '빵을 먹고', 그 다음에 십자가에 목 박히심의 '닭고기'를 먹는 것이 아닙니다. 오히려 우리는 샌드위치 전체를 한 번에 먹습니다. 우리는 어떤 항목이 먼저이고, 어떤 항목이 마지막인지 고려하지 않습니다. 이제 이 모든 것들은 주님의 이름 안에 포함되어 있습니다. 그러므로 우리가 주 예수님의 이름을 부를 때, 우리는 이 모든 것을 받게 되는 것입니다. Let us use the making and eating of a sandwich to illustrate how the incarnation, the crucifixion, the resurrection, the breathing of the essential Spirit, the ascension, and the pouring out of the economical Spirit apply to us today. In preparing a sandwich we may take two slices of bread. We then may apply mayonnaise to the bread and put on turkey, cheese, tomato, and lettuce. In the preparation of such a sandwich we go step by step. But in the eating of the sandwich, we do not take first the bread, then the turkey, and then the other elements of the sandwich. Instead, we take all the ingredients of the sandwich at once. In like manner, the six matters of Christ's incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, breathing of the Spirit, ascension, and outpouring of the Spirit are applied to us at the same time. They were accomplished step by step, but they are applied to us simultaneously. Using the illustration of the sandwich, we may say that the incarnation is the bread, that the crucifixion is the turkey, and the resurrection, the breathing of the Spirit, the ascension, and the pouring out of the Spirit are yet other ingredients. When we come to eat this all-inclusive "sandwich," we do not first "eat" the "bread" of the incarnation and then the "turkey" of the crucifixion. Rather, we take the whole sandwich at one time. We do not consider which item comes first and which comes last. Now all these matters are included in the Lord's name. Therefore, when we call on the name of the Lord Jesus, we receive all these things.
